50 All-time Greatest Characters in Television History: #31-33

#33: Reginald "Bubbles" Cousins, The Wire
Born: Unknown

Where he is now: With the direction his character was headed at the conclusion of the series, we have every reason to believe he is a major asset to society now. He is probably running various organizations to help his community, publishing a book, and/or doing motivational speaking.

Bubbles is a crucial informant for the police throughout the series due to his extraordinarily detailed knowledge of the streets of Baltimore and their inhabitants. Despite his long-standing history of heroin abuse, Bubbles is an intelligent and compassionate man who genuinely cares about his friend Johnny Weeks and Sherrod, the teenager he "adopts". His struggle to deal with his addiction and make a better life for himself is a major sub-plot over the course of the five seasons of the series.

                                    #32: Elaine Benes, Seinfeld
Born: 1961

Where she is now: We will soon find out. Jerry Seinfeld announced 3 days ago that another reunion will be released soon.

Elaine sort of flies under the radar in terms of Seinfeld lore. We have Jerry, the lead; George, the “idiot”; Kramer, the clown. Elaine, however, was a truly intricate member of that cast. She instantly stole the hearts of viewers the first time she giggled her unique laugh, and the jokes just kept on coming.

                             #31: Radar O'Reilly, M*A*S*H
Born: Unknown

Where he is now: Probably dead, depending on your perspective… The Korean War lasted 3 years, which would put him in his mid-20s by the time he left Korea, which would have him born around 1930 or so; however, the show lasted 11 years, which meant he actually came back home when he was about 35. Regardless of how old he was, the war did end in 1953, so if he was 35 when the war ended, he was born in 1918.

Radar’s seemingly super-hearing always ended the fun and precipitated an incoming chopper of wounded soldiers. Besides Major Frank Burns, and sometimes Hot Lips, everybody always treated Radar as one of their favorites, because his jovial personality always lifted everyone’s gloomy spirits in the hellhole of the 4077th.
