50 All-time Greatest Characters in Television History: #34-36

  #36: Ari Gold, Entourage
Born: 1967

Where he is now: Chairman/CEO of Time-Warner

Despite his position as one of the most powerful agents in Hollywood, Ari acquiesces to his wife at home (who has a large inheritance from her father), who is able to keep him in check. Despite frequent sexual innuendos, Ari has never cheated on his wife since they married, and "loves a liar, hates a cheater." Ari's character is based in part on the real-life Hollywood agent Ari Emanuel, who broke away from mega-agency ICM to form the Endeavor Talent Agency, which represents such stars as Vin Diesel and Larry David, both of whom are represented on the show by the fictional Ari Gold.

#35: Coach Eric Taylor, Friday Night Lights
Born: Around 1965

Where he is now: As of 2011 he is coaching the Pemberton Pioneers in Philadelphia

We are not sure which is a bigger feat: leading two different teams (Dillon and East Dillon) both to win Texas High School Football Championships or being the best father he can to that jack-ass daughter of his, who, by the way, will most likely be in the Top 5 of the list of the Most Hated TV Character of All-time, coming soon. Coach Taylor really remains the only consistently honorable character throughout the duration of the entire series. While the rest of them are selfishly making emotionally-fueled impulsive decisions, quitting school, cheating, and breaking laws, Eric keeps his integrity- and his loyal viewers.

Most defining moment: Coach Taylor delights viewers when he loses his cool, maybe the only time in the whole series, when he punches out the man who made a pass at his wife.

                        #34: Xena, Xena, Warrior Princess
Born: Circa 200 BC

Died: Somewhere between 27 BC and AD 14, decapitated by Morimoto

Xena of Amphipolis, the Warrior Princess and Destroyer of Nations was the main character of Xena: Warrior Princess and a recurring character on Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. As a warlord, she was at the head of one of the most ruthless and destructive armies that the World had ever seen. With her lover Borias, she travelled to numerous countries making her name known and feared, notably Chin, Siberia, Jappa and later (after Borias' death) Norway, Britannia and Greece. After being redeemed by Hercules, she attempted to walk a path of redemption. With her friend Gabrielle, she became renowned as one of the greatest heroes of that time, travelling to new places, such as India and Egypt and fighting for the Greater Good.
