Most Intelligent TV Characters of All-Time

Who are the smartest characters to ever grace the screen on a weekly basis? First, let me disqualify all the non-humans who might try to stake their claims of superiority over mere mortals like Jake Harper up there. That rule applies to you, Doctor Who. Second, a character who reigns supreme at the top of his or her particular career field will likely be found on this list; however, that does not necessarily merit them a higher ranking. The ones at the highest peak of this list are characters who maintain extreme intelligence in more than one area of life. Enjoy, and by all means, if you disagree with me, let's have a battle of wits.

The 50 most intelligent TV characters ever:

#50: Detective Claudette Wyms, The Shield

A law enforcement veteran with over 25 years' experience, Claudette seems to see through everybody's lies-- even Vic's lies. Her strong moral compass and unparalleled integrity often get her into trouble. She was being groomed to take over as Captain, but ended up actually DEmoted when she ratted out the District Attorney for negligence. She ends up the winner in the end, however, as her sharp mind and keen intellect catapult her, once and for all, into the Captain's chair. She also gets to watch her arch-enemy carried away in cuffs.

Weakness: She is black and she is a woman, 2 huge disadvantages in a police department.

#49: Angela Petrelli, Heroes

Fueled by an unrelenting ambition for her son to become President of the United States, there are no limits to what she will do. She was a brilliant mastermind with the suckiest superpower any of them had- and she STILL almost pulled off her big trick.

Weakness: Assumes things to be true without doing proper research

#48: Theodore "T-Bag" Bagwell, Prison Break

T-Bag had been screwed (literally) by everybody in his life until he wised up and began taking it out on society. He has been the leader of multiple prison gangs, has escaped from prison, and has consistently feigned loyalty to achieve his means. If the writers of Prison Break's final season weren't idiots and if they had stayed true to T-Bag's character, he would be ranked higher. Instead, he is running another gang- in prison.

Weakness: Script writers with amnesia
